Illegal Trail Bike Riding
Illegal trail bike riding is a growing problem on the Gold Coast. With the motorcycle community growing and motorcycle facilities not expanding with the growing group of riders. The few tracks around the gold coast such as Reedy Creek mx track and Stanmore mx park are under major threat of being shut down, Stanmore has even been shut down before but has temporarily re-opened because of relocation plans being held up. This causes riders to resort to non-registered tracks few main examples of this would be Reedy Creek Quarry, Ormeau off road tracks and the Glasshouse Mountains.

ride dirt bike illegally as a past time, one example of this is the Trail Bike Task Force, Their objective is to identify, protect and develop sites that provide legal and safe options for trail bike riding. This organisation operates out of South East Queensland. They are very valuable in combatting illegal trail bike riding because they not only try and get rid of trail bike riders, they give them a better safer alternative to riding in quarries and state forestry. There needs to be more operations. In the same way the trail bike task force who aims to not only temporarily combat trail bike riding with fines and new laws but aim to permanently get rid of illegal trail bike riding with better alternatives. |
